Neil Pryde Sailing in the UK has supplied an inventory of sailing clothing to a pair of Olympic hopefuls who hail from the independent Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba. Nicole van der Velden and Thijs Visser, who call themselves ‘Flying Arubies’ are representing the island as the mixed crew Nacra 17 catamaran entry this summer.
Neil Pryde Sailing offers an extensive range of performance dinghy clothing and are officially sponsoring the pair with a selection of wetsuits including the Elite Firewire 3mm, Elite Raceskin 2mm and the Elite Firewire 1mm, giving them a choice of protection depending on training and racing conditions. Corresponding wetsuit tops are also being supplied along with base layers including a lycra Comp vest and lycra rash vests. All the products come in both men’s and ladies’ fits, perfect for both Nicole and Thijs.
Nicole is a great fan of the Neil Pryde. She says “We’ve tried Neil Pryde before and we know it is the best. Neil Pryde sailing gear is very flexible and comfortable. The thick suits that keep you nice and warm feel like you are only wearing a thin one – and the thin ones are perfect for Rio.”
The Nacra 17 team are the first Aruba sailors in history to qualify for a sailing slot in the Olympic Games and both sailors are former Nacra world champions.
Neil Pryde Sailing is a UK company which has developed from the iconic Neil Pryde brand, long the favourite of windsurfers, and has used decades of experience to develop some of the best active sailing clothing available. Neil Pryde Sailing is part of the 3Si group of companies. The Neil Pryde Sailing range is available in outlets across the UK.
Ben Willis, UK Commercial Sales Manager for Neil Pryde Sailing, comments “We tailor our garments to suit the needs of Nicole and Thijs, ensuring that they have performance sailing equipment that won’t let them down when it matters. On behalf of Neil Pryde Sailing I wish them all the very best of luck in competing in the Rio 2016 Olympics”.
